The Brainwashed Toy Series

I wanted to talk a bit about the “Brainwashed Toy” series. It’s really cool how much feedback there is, and how detailed some of you describe their experiences, it really helps me to get to the next level with this approach.

The whole series is a culmination of my work so far. If you put it all together, I’m working towards this for about 5 years. Not exclusively, I used elements for other things, but if you consider the subliminals the first element, it’s been a long time coming.

I’ve been fascinated by the idea of doing real brainwashing for everyone for a long time. And it took me a while to figure out different elements, experiment with those, and especially make it safe to use. I talked about it with someone yesterday, and it surprised myself how much work went into it. You can start with the subliminals: Yes, I use them in all files, because they are effective. I did somewhere between 250-350 versions and tested them with guinea pigs, had people with synesthesia sort them out, and so on. It took me two years to get them where they are.

Then I tried a lot of other stuff, everyone who listens to the brainwashing will probably recognize elements from other files. Some methods, elements, and techniques I experimented on, using them in other files.

The hardest part was to make it really safe. Having an intense experience without creating emotional dependency and being able to release it all again. And how you make someone experience the control, without having an impact on their normal life. It wouldn’t do to have someone dazed at work or not safe to drive because they have it running around in their head. So the control has to be tight enough the listener can enjoy it when it’s safe, but then go away when they have to function (work, family,…)

Combine that with making it addictive enough so you can’t stop, but not as addictive so that you can’t function. It’s almost a contradiction, and it was really tricky to figure it out. A lot of discussions, brainstorming and thinking went into that part. (Tip: You can’t go to that controlled place, it only works the other way around. And it will only happen when you have the time and it is safe)

Considering that, the time that went into recording and mixing the file itself was almost negligible. Even if I could have made 6-8 “normal” files for every week of the brainwashing.

So yeah, reflecting back on how long it’s been in the making, I want to thank you for all the feedback! It will help me to make a potential sequel more intense.
